Suburban are a dedicated machine shop in Elmhurst, IL. We have been manufacturing pins for 76 years, providing high-quality dowel pins, pull pins, threaded rods, and studs. With a shop sporting eleven Strohm machines, a handful of grinders, and multiple Tsugami’s, we are constantly improving lead times and monitoring the quality of their parts – we even got an Escomatic in the mix.
Part of what makes Suburban such a reliable supplier is on-site quality assurance. Our experienced machinists check that each part is within tolerance before they’re shipped out. This helps to ensure that the part you order will fit your needs, and will be the same the next time you order it.
Our Capabilities
We offer products in many materials including black oxide, monel, brass, titanium, and stainless steel. Other metals may be an option depending on your specific needs. Our grinding service can finish a part with +0.0002” tolerance and is capable of grinding from 1/16” – 4” in diameter.

In recent years, Suburban has been focused on expanding our business capabilities and improving manufacturing times. In 2023 alone, we added 8 additional Strohm machines to their shop and lowered lead times from 12 weeks to 6. Machines are consistently being refurbished and added to the shop, so we expect to see the lead times drop even further as time goes on.
