Black Oxide Dowel Pins
Black oxide dowel pins are unique in that the black oxide coating prevents against rust while reducing friction. This reduced friction affords smooth functionality and causes less wear and tear, thus greatly enhancing the service life of moving parts. They are slightly oversized for a tight fit. Dowel pins are machined to tight tolerances. The holes that they go into are reamed holes also with a tight tolerance.
The black oxide coating also prevents galling and will not crack easily. Manufactured to specification ASME B18.8.2. Available in multiple sizes, the standard specifications for the black oxide dowel pins that we offer are:
- Diameter – 1/16” to 1 ¼”, 1.6 mm to 31.0 mm
